Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. Psalms 23:6

How do I want to be remembered?

This morning I am refreshed by David's prayer "According to Your lovingkindness [mercy] remember me, For the sake of Your goodness, O Jehovah" (Psalms 25:7). On one hand I want to be remembered for my faith, my pursuing of Him, my serving of Him (Heb. 6:10; 11:6). However that seems SOOOOO limited, even if I was a good Christian, which I think I am :) If Jesus were to review my life, my goodness and faith towards Him may not take too much time to review.

However, if He were to remember me according to His lovingkindess and for the sake of His goodness, then this review process can take some time, perhaps eternity. For example, I remember one day when I asked the Lord. "Lord, do I love you? How could I love you? I know what it is to love my wife and my children. But how can I love you?" Then the Lord seemed to remind me of the previous week when I was thinking about quitting my Christian life, how He came to me in a subtle way to restore me." Then I realized that I loved him for it. There are many incidents like this in my life and I can say "O Lord, I love you! O Lord, you are good to me. You are merciful to me. I am so happy that You remember me for the sake of Your goodness."

Oh Lord, my brother is moving to Korea. Remember him and his family according to Your lovingkindness. You visit them for the sake of Your goodness. Make their time in Korea very meaningful in You.
